2008 was an amazing year for music. Amazing, for it had its own ups and downs. A few surprise hits. A few consistent performances and a few big names biting the dust. 2009 again promises to be an exciting year for the people who love the earphones plugged into their ears. A lot of us are expecting a lot of albums, our favorite artists coming out with their best works (hopefully). So here is the first of the 2 part series covering the most anticipated albums of 2009.
Jay-Z
The Blueprint-3
The album is reportedly being released in February 2009. This 11th studio release is his last for Island Def Jam, as the next one will be with Live Nation.

Eminem
Relapse
Rumors had it that Eminem’s new album, Relapse, to be out after a 5 year hiatus, was scheduled for a December 23 release. His spokespersons say otherwise. Nonetheless, we wait for the Relapse earnestly. The details are being kept secret, yet there is a word that Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and T.I will make in an appearance too.
U2
No line on the Horizon
The Irish band is working on its new album, set for an early 2009 release. The name “No Line on the Horizon” is a working title and could change by the time it’s released. Fortunately/unfortunately, a few tracks have been leaked on to YouTube. The story goes that a fan walking along side the villa recorded the songs, as Bono was playing them a bit too loud!!
Black Eyed Peas
The E.N.D
The pop/dance oriented hip-hop band has been a wild hit since its breakout album Elephunk in 2003. With no release date confirmed, the E.N.D is highly anticipated.
50 Cent
Before I Self Destruct
Curtis James Jackson-III, also known as 50 Cent, releases his new album on February 3. The new single looks good and the album should do better than the last effort “Curtis”.Stay tuned for more previews in the 2nd part of the series “The Most Anticipated Music Albums-2009”. Get up, Stand up!!
